CURRENT AFFAIRS OF 28th SEPTEMBER 2022 

  1. UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has declared 28 September as International Day for Universal Access to Information. The theme of the Global Conference on Universal Access to Information in 2022 is “Artificial Intelligence, e-Governance and Access to Information”.
  2. World Rabies Day is celebrated each year on 28 September as a tribute to Louis Pasteur – the inventor of the first effective rabies vaccine in the world. According to the World Health Organisation, the theme of World Rabies Day 2022 is "Rabies: One Health, Zero Deaths".
  3. Ahead of the Ice Hockey season in Ladakh, a tripartite MoU has been signed between the Ladakh Sports department, Leh Hill Council and Eicher Group Foundation to promote the sport in the region.
  4. The Himachal Pradesh cabinet has approved the ‘Early Childhood Care and Education Tutor Scheme-2022’ for the children in the age group of 3 to 6 years studying in govt primary schools under the National Education Policy (NEP).
  5. Chief Executive Councilors, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan inaugurated the first ever Mega Kissan Mela in Kargil.
  6. In Telangana, Bathukamma, the state floral festival began on 25 September, 2022.  
  7. Former Kerala Minister and Senior Congress leader Aryadan Muhammed passed away on 25 September, 2022.
  8. Rosh Hashanah, the two-day Jewish celebration of the New Year has been observed from 25-27 September, 2022.   
  9. IFS officer Bandaru Wilsonbabu has been appointed as the next ambassador of India to the Republic of Madagascar.
  10. US actress Louise Fletcher, who won the Oscar in 1976 for her role as Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, has passed away in France.  
  11. Alan Jope, CEO of Unilever, will retire from his role at the end of 2023.
  12.  Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry launched Swachh Toycathon on 26 September, 2022.
  13. Reserve Bank of India has cancelled the license of Solapur-based the Laxmi Co-operative Bank Limited as the lender does not have adequate capital and earning prospects.
  14. State-run oil refiner Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) has signed an MoU with Brazil’s national oil company Petrobras to help it diversify its crude oil sourcing for energy security in India.
  15. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has carried out ‘Operation Meghachakra’ at 56 locations in 20 states against the circulation and sharing of child sexual abuse material online.
